Kwaito Sound from Johannesburg Kwaito is a unique sound that developped in the early 90´s out of HipHop, House, Mpantsula and various other musical styles in the south African townships. Nowadays Kwaito has transcended local pop culture and artists like Zola (known from the film Tsotsi), H2O or M'du are south African pop stars. In recent years this sound got also known in europe and the united states, especially because of DJ´s like Cello, waRona or Mujava, who´s song „Township Funk“ was an international clubhit being released on the renowned Warp Label. MGOMGO is a second genearation Kwaito artist who has released his second album „Nginawe“ last year on Outrageous Records. The former street hustler and dealer was discovered by H2O on the streets of Hillbrow, Johannesburg, and has since been getting more and more popular. In his songs he talks about alcohol abuse, crime and other social issues, but he also has a lot of partytunes in his repertoire. He will be accompanied by 2 dancers who will perform the wild Kwaito dances on stage. Mgo Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkset4fAE1g
