|
The Book Cafe - A Cultural and Political Hotspot in HararePresentation of the project and discussion with Chirikure Chirikure. Furthermore a recorded interview with Penny Yon / CEO Book Cafe. What sets The Book Café apart from other venues in Harare and the rest of Zimbabwe, is that it is much more than an eating, drinking or dancing place. It offers a broad range of facilities and is basically the hub for arts and culture in Harare. In a country in which spaces for free expression have been shrinking, The Book Café has defied many odds to remain almost a second home for most artists, arts practitioners, academics and the open minded public. www.zimbabwearts.org Funkfeuer Linz / Chirikure ChirikureChirikure Chirikure is a former member of The Book Café Board of Directors and is one of the artists who have been performing there regulary from its inception.
