From 3rd until 5th of May 2012 the cultural organization STADTWERKSTATT Linz arranges together with local and national partners the international festival TREFFPUNKT.AFRIKA#2. It will partly be held at a ship (the MS Schönbrunn) on the bank of the danube. The focus of the festival lies on a two-day Symposium with the topic „Survival of the Hippest? - Urban Art and Culture in Africa“

The lectures will be accompanied by Filmscreenings, a Concert and DJ Nightline with musicians from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Côte d'Ivoir, France, Germany and Austria and an International Soccer Tournament.
DJ Zhao


DJ Zhao brings the best contemporary and classic dance music together from wildly different times and places, with focus on Africa.  Informed of the latest global sounds such as Afro-Electro, Angolan-House, Kuduro, Coupe Decale, Naija, Rai, and Cumbia, as well as drawing upon the wealth of sonic traditions worldwide such as Juju, Gwo Ka, Rumba, Taraab, and Persian Classical, Dj Zhao fuses ancestral rhythms and urban bass pressure.

Performing solo and with NGOMA Soundsystem since 2007 all over Europe, DJ Zhao brings unique vision and energy to every event, and has performed or shared bills with artists such as Shangaan Electro (South Africa), Konono No. 1 (Congo), Rhythm and Sound (Germany), Cooly G (UK), Appietus (Ghana), Shackleton (UK), Pan Sonic (Finland).
